Description

A 40 minute facial built specifically for teen skin.

Teen skin is not adult skin scaled down. It makes more oil, it turns over faster, and it reacts to whatever gets put on it. This treatment works with that rather than against it: a double cleanse, an exfoliation matched to what the skin is doing that day, extractions where the skin is ready for them, and a calming finish.

We call it the Athlete Facial because skin responds to the same things a sport does. Consistency over intensity, the basics done well, and repetition. Your esthetician explains every step as it happens and sends your teen home with a written routine of three or four steps, built around what they already own wherever that works.

Booked in studio at 355 Third Street, Laguna Beach. A parent is welcome to stay in the room for the whole appointment.

About This Service

Teen skin is not adult skin scaled down. It makes more oil, it turns over faster, and it reacts to whatever gets put on it, which by fourteen is usually quite a lot.

This is forty minutes built for that. A double cleanse, an exfoliation matched to what the skin is doing that day, extractions where the skin is ready for them and nowhere it is not, and a calming finish.

We call it the Athlete Facial because skin responds to the same things a sport does. Consistency over intensity. The basics done well. Nobody gets better in one session, and skin is no different.

Your esthetician talks through each step as it happens. Your teen leaves knowing what was done, why it was done, and what to do at home between visits.

What to Expect

Your esthetician starts by asking what your teen is already using. Often that is where most of the answer is.

Then a double cleanse, a gentle exfoliation chosen for the day, steam, and extractions if the skin is ready for them. Some days it is not, and we will say so rather than force it.

A calming mask while everything settles, then a light moisturizer and SPF.

The last few minutes are the routine itself. Three or four steps, written down, built around what your teen already owns wherever that works.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Need more information? You can find it right here.

How old does my teen need to be?

We see kids from about twelve through eighteen. Younger than that, skin usually does not need a facial yet, and we will tell you if that is the case rather than book one anyway.

A parent is welcome to stay in the room for the whole appointment.

Why is it called the Athlete Facial?

Because skin responds to the same things a sport does. Consistency beats intensity, the basics matter more than the extras, and nobody gets better in one session.

The name is about how we approach the skin, not about who plays what.

Is this for acne?

It helps with congestion, oil, and everyday breakouts. If your teen is dealing with persistent or inflamed acne, our Custom Acne Facial runs longer and goes further.

Your esthetician will tell you which one fits after seeing the skin, and will move you to the right one rather than sell you the longer service by default.

Will there be extractions?

Only where the skin is ready for them. Forcing extractions on skin that is not ready leaves more marks than it clears, so some days we do fewer and explain why.

Do we have to buy products?

No. Nobody here works on commission. Your esthetician builds the routine around what your teen already owns wherever that works, and only suggests something new when there is a real gap.

How often should we come back?

Skin responds to repetition. Every four to six weeks is a comfortable rhythm while a routine is being established. A single visit is still worth having.
